Frequently Asked Questions
The questions our sales and service teams are asked most often. If your question is not here, contact us through any channel and we will reply within one business day.
What kind of instruments do you supply?
+We supply surveying and scientific measuring instruments across seven categories: geological survey, hydrological survey, environmental science, physics and dating, land surveying, field and rescue equipment, together with accessories and spare parts. The full list is on the products page.
Which brands do you represent?
+We are the official distributor for surveying instrument brands from Europe, the Americas and Asia. The brands page lists them all; clicking a brand logo shows only that brand’s products.
How do I request a quotation?
+Use the "Request a Quotation" button at the top of any page, or the button on a product page, which fills in the product name for you. Leave your name and a telephone number or email address and the request reaches our sales team immediately. You can also call +66 2-416-7172-4 or message LINE @surveysei.
How soon will someone get back to me?
+Our sales team replies within one business day. We are open Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 17:00. For anything urgent, calling or messaging us on LINE is faster.
Why are prices not shown on the website?
+The price depends on the model, the accessories chosen, the quantity and the delivery terms, so we quote each enquiry individually. Tell us what the instrument will be used for and we will propose suitable models to compare.
What after-sales support do you provide?
+Our own engineers look after the instrument for its whole working life: training, calibration, maintenance and repair, and genuine spare parts from the manufacturer.
Where can instruments be calibrated, and how often?
+We calibrate the instruments we supply. How often depends on the requirements of the work and the standard your organisation follows; once a year is common, and any time the instrument has been knocked or gives readings you doubt. Send us the model and the date of the last calibration and we will advise on a suitable interval.
Do you repair instruments bought elsewhere?
+Send us the brand, the model and what is wrong and our engineers will assess it. We mainly service the types of instrument we supply; if the work is beyond that or has to go back to the manufacturer, we will say so and set out the options.
Do you stock genuine spare parts?
+Parts that are needed often, such as tapes, probes, batteries and consumables, we order directly from the manufacturer as their distributor. Send us the model and serial number and we will check availability and lead time.
How long is the warranty?
+The warranty follows each manufacturer’s terms for that model. The period and what it covers are stated in every quotation, and while it is in force we deal with the manufacturer on your behalf.
Do you deliver nationwide, and do you install on site?
+We deliver anywhere in Thailand. The lead time depends on whether the item is in stock or made to order, and it is stated in the quotation. Where installation or on-site setup is needed, such as an automatic monitoring station, our engineers carry it out.
Do you provide training?
+Yes. We train the people who will use the instrument when it is handed over: setting up, taking readings, looking after it, and what to watch for in the field. Organisations with several users, or with new staff taking over, can ask for refresher training.
Do you sell to government agencies and state enterprises?
+Yes. Most of our clients are government departments, state enterprises, universities and consulting firms, and we are used to public procurement paperwork. Tell us which documents you need when you ask for a quotation.
What is the difference between a contact meter and a data logger?
+A contact meter is lowered down the well by hand and gives one reading at a time. It suits round-based monitoring, costs less, is easy to carry and easy to look after. A logger stays in the well and records at whatever interval you set, with nobody on site, which suits continuous trends or wells that are hard to reach. Many organisations use both, checking the logger’s readings against a contact meter.
How do I choose a water level meter for a borehole?
+Three things decide it. First the depth of the well, which sets the tape length you need. Second how often you measure: a contact meter for periodic readings, a logger for a continuous record. Third the water and the well itself, for instance sediment or corrosive water, which affects the probe material. Send us those three and we will propose models to compare.
Where can I get a catalogue or the specifications?
+Each product page has a download button for the manufacturer’s catalogue. For models whose file is not on the site yet, ask by email at sales@survey-engineer.com or on LINE @surveysei and we will send it the same working day.
Can I visit to see the instruments?
+Yes. We are at 328-328/1 Boriphat Road, Ban Bat, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, Bangkok 10100, open Monday to Saturday, 08:00 to 17:00. Please arrange a time beforehand so we can have the models you are interested in ready.
Still need an answer?
Tell us about the work and the models you are considering, and our engineers will help you choose the right instrument.
